The Iceman is Back!

He started the race in 16th place BUT finished in 7th place! :)

 Team Lotus

Iceman on track

Now that Kimi's back in F1, I'd surely be watching the races again with hubby. I am sure JJ would find ways to annoy me by saying not so nice things about Kimi and his capabilities as a driver but I'd just say, "Bring it on...". :)

My Weekend

My weekend started Friday night with my sis-in-law Eunice and my one-and-only sister, Chissa. We trooped to MAC Glorietta to claim our free lipsticks in exchange for used/ empty MAC products. There was a change in policy as we were shown only 7 shades to choose from whereas before, all regular lipstick shades are up for grabs. But we were pacified when we saw the shades that we can choose from as these were what they call "MAC Classics". After trying several shades, I decided to get Russian Red. Now, I am not really into loud red lipsticks but when I tried it, Chissa and Eunice said that it looked nice on me.My sister even went as far as saying that it gave me a glow! Haha :-) Now given that compliment, how can I not choose the shade? Chissa got Fast Play (a pink shade which really looked nice on her). Eunice decided to get Fast Play too and Twig (another MAC classic), if I remember right. After MAC, we checked out stores having a sale (Plains and Prints, Kamiseta, Zara, etc.). My sister treated me for dinner at Go Greek at the Food Choices. Dessert is on me and we tried Sebastian's Ice Cream, which disappointed me. I'd have FIC any day over Sebastian's.
Promotion! :-) My sister-in-law sells makeup. Please check out her site
We were off to Sta. Rosa last Saturday for my brother Teejay's birthday. They recently moved into their own home and it was our first time to visit them. The house was really nice and fits their family of four. I also love some of the furniture that my sister-in-law bought for their house. It was a fun, fun dinner as we are complete once again. My brother, Tom, who resides in Pampanga, was also there and brought his family, cousin Din and our Tita Ebong with him. I cannot wait to see them again at Luis' first birthday party this coming Friday, March 19.
Sunday was spent with my darling boys, hubby JJ and Lucas. We just stayed home Sunday morning and dropped by the mall early evening to hear mass and walk around. JJ suggested that we eat at Ted's (yummy yummy La Paz Batchoy). While we're eating, we got an SMS from Eunice inviting us to join them at Pizza Hut with Daddy G, Ate Michelle and her boys, Einar and Enrico. Lucas had a grand time running around Pizza Hut with his Kuyas. Our meryenda became dinner as JJ and I finished off the pasta and pizza (lasagna was really good). After that, it was time to go home as we want to watch Formula 1's first race of the season. Said race turned out to be a huge B-O-R-E.
That's it. Hope you guys had a nice weekend as well.

Raikkonen assured of DHL Fastest Lap Award

"His championship hopes may be all but over, but Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen does have something to celebrate - clinching the DHL Fastest Lap Award for the second consecutive year. With three races still to run, Raikkonen has already racked up an unbeatable 10 fastest laps this year, his most recent in Singapore.

With no other driver having recorded more than two, Raikkonen will collect the highly-coveted DHL Fastest Lap Award trophy following next month’s season finale in Brazil.
On top of that, just one more fastest lap in 2008 will see Raikkonen break Michael Schumacher’s record of 10 fastest laps in a season, set by the German during his dominant 2004 campaign with Ferrari."

Something positive at the end of a dismal season for Kimi. I hope the next season will be much better for him. I sure miss seeing him finish in the top 3 position.

With Kimi's chances of defending his title purely mathematical (Hamilton leads him by 27 points with only 30 points to play for), I am hoping that Hamilton will win the championship. Not that Massa doesn't deserve to win, he does. But of course, I'd rather have Raikkonen as the only Ferrari driver with a world championship title. Yeah, purely selfish reasons :-)

Engines will rev up for the Japanese Grand Prix this weekend. Can't wait!

Can't wait 'til the 28th...

Nope, it's not our anniversary. Nope, my birthday is on October pa (though JJ will celebrate his 28th on the 29th). Yup, it's our son's christening but there is one more reason why I am so looking forward to the 28th.

I've been following Formula 1 for a few years now and the race on the 28th is the first of its kind. Why? It will be a night race!
I would have taken JJ to watch the GP (it will be in Singapore so near lang) since birthday niya and it would have been something na the two of us would enjoy (that is kung naka-book ako ng flight, hotel and if I got f1 tickets. Heard from a classmate na late last year pa lang daw, pahirapan na) but since we have Lucas now, maybe next year na lang? :-) (so dapat pala now pa lang i am planning for it na. hmmm.).

Anyway, here's a preview of the circuit.

To those who will attend the GP, please say hi to Kimi for me :-)

My weekend

I don't know if I can call it that as Sunday was my only free day, so to speak. Kinda sad too because JJ has to go on shift tonight :-(
Saturday was all for my Controllership class. I am one of the reporters for the day and I had to cram in the morning to finish my report. Good thing I was able to finish it on time and everything went well in class. Controllership is the subject that I enjoy this term. For one, because the professor is good and second, the class is small making it just one big "chika" session, instead of a formal class. After class, JJ and I heard mass. I offered mass for my Lola Ima as it was her death anniversary that same day. It was a typical Saturday night for us. We just watched Grey's Anatomy (yey, we're on Season 3 na) until the wee hours of the morning.

Sunday is a Sports day for us. Although we're also interested in the Pacquiao-Marquez match, we're more into Formula 1. Today was the season opener and since the race was in Australia, the race was held the same time as the boxing match. I am a Raikkonen fan and the result was pretty disappointing (the pic above shows him getting out of car with a failed engine) but JJ and I enjoyed watching the race. New rules were enforced this season and it made for a more exciting race. I cannot wait for the Malaysian Grand Prix next weekend :-) Hay, I am really hoping that JJ and I will get to watch one Grand Prix race one of these days.

And lastly, given that I am relatively new when it comes to blogging, I can say that I am enjoying it :-) It's a great way to make friends and well, just to express oneself. I was even showing my new entries to JJ this afternoon. Hopefully, I will always be in "sipag" mode when it comes to posting.
I'll be off now. Time for me and baby to go to sleep :-)
