My brother, Tom, took up Mechanical Engineering and unfortunately didn't make the cut when he first took the ME licensure exams way back in 2005, I think. A real heartbreaker for us. Passing grade was 60. He got 59.something. Darn.
Blessing of all blessings is that he got a job easily and has worked abroad for a year in fact. I never thought he'd try again so imagine my surprise when I got this SMS from my Mom and sister:
Momsy: Nakapasa na pala si Tom ng Board
Chissa: Pasado daw si Kuya sa board exam!
