Nang dahil sa hilaw na mangga...

... I was rushed to the ER this morning!

I woke up with my head spinning and feeling nauseous. That first instant, I know I was having another hyperacidity attack. I kept on vomiting for the rest of the morning. By 9AM, I was so weak I had to ask JJ to bring me to the hospital. Daddy G gave me Zantac but I wasn't able hold it down.

At the ER, after the initial check up, the doctor concluded that I had vertigo at gastritis. I was given Zantac and Plasil intravenously. After an hour, I was much much better. I was advised to rest for another two days and to take Zantac twice a day for two weeks. I honestly doubt that it's vertigo as I am awfully dizzy whenever I have a hyperacidity attack.

Now, I was blaming it on the green mangoes because it was the last thing I had last night. Two, in fact. JJ was telling me to take it easy next time and to take into mind that I shouldn't have it late in the night. I was really sorry I ate those mangoes but I only have myself to blame.

I am feeling much, much better now. Just a little weak from my ordeal this morning. Hopefully, this won't happen again soon.

It's true what they always say, you only get to appreciate good health when you're sick.

Crocs Megasale Loot

Ate Michelle and Daddy G braved the crowd yesterday to drop by the Crocs Megasale. Looking at Daddy G's bags when we got home last night, I'd say the trip was a huge success :-)

Here's what they got for us:

Crete canvas was at P500 each. Daddy G got me and JJ a pair, both in this color. He also got a pair in red and in blue. For P500, this one is a steal.

Ate Michelle got Lucas two pairs. This blue one in his current size and a green one on the next size. I have no idea how much they cost as Ate Michelle gave them to Lucas as gifts. Thanks Ninang Michelle :-)This is what I really want sana. Ate Michelle initially told me that she got a pair on my size. I almost jumped up and down with glee. 50% off. Unfortunately, they realized later on that both are for the left foot! They cannot find the other pair. Waaahhhh :(

Hope my sister will find time to drop by the sale in the next few days. *Chissa, I know you're stalking this blog. You better get me a pair of Sta. Cruz :-)* Hay, baka talagang hindi kami ukol :-)

Anyhoo, sis-in-law and mom-in-law both got Malindi, which I think is spanking nice as well. They got them in navy blue and red.

Just finished reading....

I finally found time to read some of the books that I purchased months (and a year?) ago. I usually sneak in a few pages before I sleep and sometimes, I bring a book whenever I am pumping at work (if there's nothing pressing that I have to do).

This book is funny, real and heartwarming. It is about friendship and how it's tested over time and by circumstance. It's about how your true friends know what's right for you but will love you still even if they do not agree with how you live and who you live with.

This DS book is about a dog-walker/ celebrity-daughter who grows and falls in love with a famous (Brad Pitt popularity level) moviestar. It is about the mechanics of an unconventional family. How they treat each other and eventually accept each other, faults and all. It is about wholly accepting yourself, your mother and your sister. This book made me cry :-)

Honor Thyself is about a filmstar who became a victim of a terrorist attack while vacationing in Paris. She had amnesia and in the process of finding herself, she got to know her family: ex-husband, children and assistant all over again. She also found her ex-love and rekindled a romance in the process. This is a page-turner and I honestly had a hard time putting the book down.

Coming Out is mainly about a lawyer's twin daughters' coming out ball. How the said ball caused rifts among her family of a Jewish husband, a rebellious daughter and a shallow ex-husband. Not a page turner like the two DS books above but still a good book nonetheless. I love Steel's books as they make you feel for the characters. She can make you laugh and she can definitely make you cry :-)

I am now reading Anansi Boys. This is my first Neil Gaiman book and so far (3 chapters) I am liking it. National Bookstore offered a 30% discount on all Gaiman books and I just wasn't able to resist.

Next in line is DS' A Good Woman, which garnered great reviews as well.

Our Little Man turns 19 Today

19 months, that is :-)

Happy 19th month Lucas. By next month, you will be on your twenties na... time surely flies fast.

You are at this stage where you're so curious that nothing escapes your little hands and mouth. You often amaze me with your ability to grasp concepts and mimic our actions and words. You also have a good memory as you often mention stuff way before they are shown on your favorite DVD shows. You are also one sweet son. You always kiss me. As in kiss me with a smile on your face after pa. Me and daddy look forward to those kisses everyday. On the other hand, you are a brat sometimes and believe me sweetie when I say that our patience has been put to test. But hopefully, you'll realize in the future that tough love is sometimes a must. It breaks my heart to see you cry anak. But we can't have you growing up a difficult person, right?

Happy 19th month anak. We love you very much.

My Weekend

My weekend started Friday night with my sis-in-law Eunice and my one-and-only sister, Chissa. We trooped to MAC Glorietta to claim our free lipsticks in exchange for used/ empty MAC products. There was a change in policy as we were shown only 7 shades to choose from whereas before, all regular lipstick shades are up for grabs. But we were pacified when we saw the shades that we can choose from as these were what they call "MAC Classics". After trying several shades, I decided to get Russian Red. Now, I am not really into loud red lipsticks but when I tried it, Chissa and Eunice said that it looked nice on me.My sister even went as far as saying that it gave me a glow! Haha :-) Now given that compliment, how can I not choose the shade? Chissa got Fast Play (a pink shade which really looked nice on her). Eunice decided to get Fast Play too and Twig (another MAC classic), if I remember right. After MAC, we checked out stores having a sale (Plains and Prints, Kamiseta, Zara, etc.). My sister treated me for dinner at Go Greek at the Food Choices. Dessert is on me and we tried Sebastian's Ice Cream, which disappointed me. I'd have FIC any day over Sebastian's.

We were off to Sta. Rosa last Saturday for my brother Teejay's birthday. They recently moved into their own home and it was our first time to visit them. The house was really nice and fits their family of four. I also love some of the furniture that my sister-in-law bought for their house. It was a fun, fun dinner as we are complete once again. My brother, Tom, who resides in Pampanga, was also there and brought his family, cousin Din and our Tita Ebong with him. I cannot wait to see them again at Luis' first birthday party this coming Friday, March 19.

Sunday was spent with my darling boys, hubby JJ and Lucas. We just stayed home Sunday morning and dropped by the mall early evening to hear mass and walk around. JJ suggested that we eat at Ted's (yummy yummy La Paz Batchoy). While we're eating, we got an SMS from Eunice inviting us to join them at Pizza Hut with Daddy G, Ate Michelle and her boys, Einar and Enrico. Lucas had a grand time running around Pizza Hut with his Kuyas. Our meryenda became dinner as JJ and I finished off the pasta and pizza (lasagna was really good). After that, it was time to go home as we want to watch Formula 1's first race of the season. Said race turned out to be a huge B-O-R-E.

My Lola Ima

It's been seven years since Lola Ima's death. Our only consolation is that she and Tatang are now together in heaven.

I still think about you often Ima. I miss you dearly. I know that you and Tatang are watching over us everyday.
